Advertise on Your Car Programs

Found some helpful information on "advertise on your car" programs today.  Appears some people think these programs are scams but there's a good explanation for why some people would spread such a rumor.

The reason is - not everyone gets picked for these programs.  If you don't have a good driving record or don't drive the average number of miles, or even if your car is a clunker, well, you're not going to stand a good chance of getting selected.

These people have signed up for the program, paid their registration fee for the service and then didn't meet the program so they felt ripped off.  If you want to have success with these car wrap advertising programs, you should do your homework up front.  Ask questions like:

  • Do you have any ad campaigns running in my area?
  • How much can I make putting ad wrap advertising on my car?
  • How can I improve my chances of getting selected?
  • How long do these ad campaigns generally run?
A few good questions and some thought as to how you and your driving patterns make a great opportunity for advertising on your car can go a long way to proving this actually works.

Three Ways to Advertise on Your Car for Money

There are at least three ways to advertise on your car for money that I can come up with:

  1. Sign up for an ad wrap car advertising program and get matched with an advertiser.
  2. Put an ad up on Craigslist or eBay offering up the advertising space on your car.
  3. Cold call on local businesses in your area to see if they'd be interested in putting their ad on your car for a monthly fee.
Nearly every day, I hit my local Starbucks for my regular cup of coffee.  Tucked back in this shopping area near the Starbucks - but not facing the street - is a little t-shirt printing shop.  I know they can't get much foot traffic.  I did notice that they have an online store, but because of their location they must have to spend a lot of money in advertising to be able to generate sufficient traffic to pay for their building.  Can you really make that much off of t-shirts?

I've considered going in and asking them if we couldn't work out a deal where they would advertise on my wife's car in exchange for a monthly fee.  I did check with my wife first, of course.  She doesn't have a problem with it.  I haven't, though, because I'm not really a salesman and going in and trying to explain the whole arrangement might take up a lot of time and get me know where.

It was much easier signing up online for the regular "advertise on your car for money" programs.

How Much Cash Can I Make for Advertising on My Car?

The real question is how much cash can I make by advertising on my car?  The truth of the matter appears to be the amount can be quite substantial.

After doing some research, most programs say the minimum amount is $100 a month.  Now, that's not too bad, but the average appears to be more like $400 a month.  Okay, that's some serious cash.  That's $4,800 a year and it's money that doesn't eat up extra time out of your day.  Every other avenue of extra income I've researched requires time and that's hard to pack into my already busy day.

I drive about the standard 1,000 miles a month and average 45 miles an hour for all of those 1,000 miles.  That means I'm driving for about 22 hours out of every month.  That's 22 hours I can't be on the web, can't be working at my job (okay, I might get some work calls out of the way), and I can't work a second job.  If someone paid me $400 a month for doing that driving I'm already doing, I'd suddenly be making $18 an hour for something I'm already doing.

Wow - when you lay the numbers out there, the amount of cash you can make for advertising on your car is not too shabby at all.

How To Sell Advertising Space on Your Car

Think of your car as ad space.  Billboards sell ad space.  Magazines sell ad space.  Trains, buses, and 18 wheelers sell ad space.  Now, you can advertise on your car and get paid.  Yup.  Sell the ad space on your car.

Some car fanatics would, of course, freak at the notion of putting ad wrap material on their car.   The material is safe enough but perhaps their egos are so wrapped up in their car that the thought of driving around with a large ad on the side of it is just to much to stomache.

Then there are the rest of us.  Reasonable, responsible, family men or women who are more concerned that our bills get paid, that our kids have the things they need and that we put all of our assets to work for us in any ethical way possible.  Well, this is one of them.  At the end of my time, I won't care that I drove around with some ad wrap on my car.  I'll care that I was able to put my kids through college and that I was able to save for a comfortable retirement.

Lots of people want to know how to sell advertising space on their cars.  Fortunately, there are companies who do nothing but find the businesses who want people to help them advertise and take applications from people who want to sell advertising space on their cars and put them together.  That takes care of all of the hard work so you can start making money by driving that advertising around on your car.

How to Get a Free Car

Wouldn't we all love a free car?  The trick, of course is knowing how to get a free car.  They're not just handed out like candy.  There are, however, Free Car Programs where you have a better chance of getting a free car than of winning the lottery.

You see, businesses who want to get their advertising in front of lots of people use lots of ways of getting their message broadcast.  They use internet, television, radio, print ads and even airplanes with message banners.

Several years ago, some ingenious little marketer thought up a new way of advertising.  How about putting ad wrap advertising on cars and letting people - regular people like you and me - drive those cars around while they're doing their normal daily driving?  Brilliant.  The businesses save lots of ad money and people who need a free car can sign up and help with the advertising.  It's what they call a win-win situation.

These free car programs are available all over the place, too, not just in the United States.  They've become a popular method of advertising and folks are catching on to the idea.  In this economy, if you can get a car for free, why wouldn't you?  You have to sign up to a program, apply to be accepted and then complete your responsibilities - which really means doing just what you do alread....DRIVE.
